FAQs

  • We recommend trying a Foundation class first so you get to grips with the Reformer machine. If you are reasonably fit and without injuries you can jump straight into a Mixed level class. We will always give options and modifications where needed.

  • You’ll experience noticeable improvements in your posture, resulting in fewer aches and pains. Physically, you'll feel enhanced muscle tone, increased core strength, a flatter stomach and looser, more flexible joints. Reformer is the perfect antidote to hours at a desk job or hunched over a phone. The more you practice, the stronger you become!

  • Bring water and wear comfortable activewear. Grip socks are compulsory for safety and hygiene. Don’t worry, you can purchase these at the studio for £10.

  • Yes, there is free parking directly outside the studio. Please follow the signs.

  • Of course they can! The Pilates method was initially created by Joseph Pilates as a means to maintain his own fitness and well-being. Reformer Pilates enhances balance, posture, and flexibility, all while building muscle strength.

  • Please arrive 5 minutes prior to the start of each class. Changing facilities are available on site but we do not have shower facilities. If you arrive after the class has started then we may not be able to accommodate you due to class flow reasons.

  • Reformer Pilates targets weaker areas and rebalances tense muscles, enhancing your technique in activities such as running, tennis, or golf. Enjoy an improved range of motion, better balance, and a reduced risk of injury, among other benefits. David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo are big fans!

  • Please contact info@reformeratthebarn.co.uk to discuss your individual needs as we run specialist prenatal classes. Reformer Pilates is a fantastic way to strengthen pelvic floor muscles, keep muscle tone and maintain posture alignment during pregnancy which will help decrease hip, shoulder, and back pain.

  • Our group classes are not suitable for rehabilitation. If you have an injury please obtain clearance from your GP or physio before attending class. Additionally, providing a note from your physio detailing any specific movements to avoid would be beneficial.
